The Friends of 2713 is a non profit group started in 1995 and is dedicated to the preservation of the railroad history of the Stevens Point, Wisconsin area. 

The club's main focus is to perserve the 4-6-2 Soo Line Pacific Class H-21 locomotive number 2713 and the Soo Line caboose number 158 that is on permanent display and located on the Southeast corner of Monroe and Business 51, near the old Soo Line Depot in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The train is owned by the City of Stevens Point. Are second focus it to collect pictures of trains, people, building and events on the city's south side.

If you visit the train display it is free. You can play a recording of steam engine sounds for $0.50.

The site is open in the winter but not plowed. The snow can be deep with patchs of ice. If visiting in the winter please dress accordingly.

For you serious rail fans out there the train is located at Canadian National mile marker 249.

The 2713 display is also located on the historic "Yellow Stone Trail".

This is a free family friendly event. The historic Steam Train and Caboose in Stevens Point will be open to the public with displays of model train layouts, working antique steam tractor, black smith, old machinery, train rides for the kids, historic photos etc. The steam engines whistle will be hooked up and you will be able to play engineer and blow the whistle and ring the bell. Lunch will be available on the grounds with root beer from the Point Brewery. It will be held rain or shine. Event sponsored by Simplicity Credit Union and Friends of 2713.
